We love Cambridge CDC @ Tanglin! —- Here is why
About 6 years ago, coming to Singapore as Expats from Manhattan (USA), I learned about the school from recommendations of friends and neighbors. Having screened several pre-schools, I immediately felt at ease to leave my son (18 months at the time) in the care of this school, because of the obvious loving and caring attitude of the teachers and aunties towards all the children. This caring and loving environment is what matters most to me.
Besides, being a very safety concerned Mom, I always appreciated the safety aspects of Cambridge CDC @ Tanglin, being tucked away from main traffic on Belvedere Close. “On top” rigorous health monitoring of the children always allowed an easy sailing during times of nationwide HFMD or flu outbreaks. School management and teachers cared about every child’s safety and did their best to keep us well informed on our children’s well being.
I also truly appreciate the infrastructure and curriculum of the school.
Being German and an outdoor person, I love the huge and clean outdoor play area and garden the children can enjoy. However, given Singapore’s climate, the kids don’t have to compromise free play during rainy days as they can enjoy an equally pleasant indoor gym, which they all obviously love. I appreciate that classes of different age groups are spatially separated to provide a pleasant and age appropriate learning environment. Being a scientist, I like the project oriented learning. I noticed with my son that it facilitates an easy transition to the PYP/IB system of many international schools in Singapore.

The teachers I got to know along the years at Cambridge seemed well chosen and dedicated. Some becoming close friends to our family. CAs /ECAs like Speech and Drama, GymKidz, Jump Start Mandarin and Japanese are big hits with our children. National festivals of different ethnic origin are celebrated with passion at school. All of the above allowing them to grow up as truly balanced global citizens. Not to forget the spectacular year end graduation concert leaving me in astonishment again and again what each child is capable of – if he receives the support and dedication of caring and involved teachers.
As an Expat couple working full time without the support of relatives in reach, the fact that Cambridge CDC @ Tanglin does not have long school breaks makes our lives so much easier. Having moved on to P2 at an international school in Singapore with our eldest, we appreciate the BASC option the centre offers which allows our son to have high quality education but also bonding time with former teachers, aunties and friends during the long school breaks of international schools and most valuable to us – a chance to stay in touch with Mandarin in which he was fluent during his years at Cambridge CDC @ Tanglin.
If I would be asked by a friend or colleague to recommend a pre-school, without hesitation, I would recommend Cambridge CDC @ Tanglin, because, this is where my children found a home away from home that prepares them well for the challenges that lay ahead.”

Every child is unique in his own way. I want Shannon and Dillon to be in a school where their individual qualities could be developed and their potential stretched. I want them to learn in a safe and nurturing environment. I am glad I have found Cambridge Child Development Centre @ Tanglin. With the help of their committed team of professional teachers, both Shannon and Dillon have totally enjoyed their kindergarten curriculum as well as the extra-curriculum activities like Japanese Culture and Speech & Drama. This wonderful experience and solid foundation will definitely help them prepare for their primary school education.

Ethan always feels so welcome in school. Through the team’s consistent efforts and patience, Ethan has progressed well, giving us pleasant surprises with little things that he does and knows.
